What is custom software development?

What is the difference between custom software and off-the-shelf SaaS?
SaaS solves the average case for many companies and charges per seat. Custom software solves your specific case, integrates with what you already use and has no license fees. If an existing tool solves the problem well, it is usually the better choice.
How much does custom software cost?
It depends on scope: number of features, integrations, platforms (web, iOS, Android) and security requirements. After discovery you get a fixed price for a defined scope, before any commitment.
How long does development take?
It depends on the size of the first version. We recommend starting with the smallest version that solves the main problem, putting it into use and evolving it. The exact timeline comes in the proposal, with the delivery order.
Who owns the code?
You do. Repository, infrastructure, app store accounts and documentation are owned by your company.
How does the process work?
Discovery, a written proposal, development in cycles with releases you can test, launch and evolution. Nothing starts until the proposal is approved.
How do I follow the project's progress?
Through frequent working releases you actually use, instead of status reports. You get access to test builds and talk directly to the engineers.
Do you work with companies outside Brazil?
Yes. We work remotely with clients in Brazil and abroad, in English or Portuguese.
Why work with a nearshore team in Brazil?
Brazil shares most business hours with the US and Canada, so you meet during your day. You work with engineers who communicate in English, usually at a lower cost than a local agency.
Do you build only the app, or the backend too?
We build the full system: app, web application, backend, database, integrations and release. You don't need to stitch vendors together.
How do you use artificial intelligence?
We connect commercial language models to your systems and data for specific tasks, such as customer support, document classification and search over internal knowledge, with clear limits and a person taking over when the AI is unsure.
Do you provide maintenance after launch?
Yes. We can continue with fixes, monitoring and new features on a monthly agreement or on demand.
Do you sign NDAs?
Yes. We can sign a non-disclosure agreement before you share project details.
